Growing up
as a preachers' kid in my father's church, I never envisioned
that God would give me the privilege to
share my passion and love for Jesus Christ
throughout the United States and across the world. Sharing Jesus
was Dad's job.
I figured I
would do what I was good at - teaching and coaching. Having been
a Division I athlete familiar with hard work, I landed a head
collegiate coaching job at 24 and set out to accomplish my
goals. I decided the direction which, in my opinion, was best
for my life. Although this plan did include God, He did not
orchestrate it.
Throughout a very successful coaching career
my heart continually desired a more intimate relationship with
God,
but it wasn't happening and wasn't going to until I gave over
the reins. But, at the time, I didn't see it that way. Through
a series of events, I lost control of my job and my life. I was
left wondering if I had just blown everything. But
the faithful and compassionate Spirit of God
was just getting started! He finally had my attention and I was
ready to step out of His way. As I gave God control,
I learned how to listen and recognize His voice and how to trust
Him in the day to day events, especially for my future.
I quickly realized God's plan was different than mine, and His
was definitely better!
The main focus of TLM Ministries,
is to present the true joy of making a personal connection with
Jesus Christ. The combination of inspirational music and
testimony is suitable for a variety of audiences. Teenagers and
young adults appreciate the athletic dimension of our concerts
and relate to the challenge of maintaining balance in their
life. As I share the road I have walked, single adults and
married couples alike are encouraged to lay their burdens at His
feet - for His yoke is easy and His burden is light! I continue
to face challenges daily, but I am learning the truth of Isaiah
40:31, "They who wait on the Lord will renew their strength!"
I find my faith and strength increasing as I rest in God's
arms in total surrender.
It is my sincere prayer that our music is a clear
reflection of the work Christ is doing in my own life. This
will challenge others to open their hearts to a more intimate
daily relationship with the only One that can change us from the
inside out -
My Father, My Friend
